I wasn’t quite sure what to think of the book at the beginning, even though like always I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful prose, imagery, setting and of course the characters. She is so strong though and loved her journey throughout. ! I loved the 'you've got mail' vibes with the twist of the magic typewriters.

Ross introduces us to Iris Winnow, a girl with an uneasy fate who has lost her brother somewhere on the front lines and hasn't heard anything from him, and her mother unfortunately struggling with addiction, and besides all of this, her gorgeous, acerbic and intelligent rival at work Roman Kit does not make her days any easier.

I enjoyed this one and the FairyLoot edition is flawless as always. Her best bet is to win the columnist promotion at the Oath Gazette. Two rival journalists after the same job, one who is looking after her ill mother, her brother has gone to war, the other whose life has been sorted for him, upper class with perfect work ethic, obviously theyre going to clash. Would highly recommend!
