. There are multiple mysteries to unravel - the abduction, a murder, the missing Vermeer, so many dead ends and theories to pursue. Having said that the pace was slow to begin with and I think the flow of the book didn’t always work as at times I felt like I had missed something. I was not sure if this would be as good as I hoped but I should not have worried.

It was a plot full of unpredictable twists and easy to follow. It wasn’t a problem, I thoroughly enjoyed Win, his wealthy family and interesting friends. Having read many of Cobens books , WHL3 crops up often with Myron Bolitar .

I’m a huge Harlan Coben fan so I was over the moon when I was approved for this one. Many years ago I was fortunate to visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and experience the masterful space and art, including the empty frames where the Vermeer and others would’ve been.

I’m glad I read it but it wouldn’t be one of my favourites of Harlan Coben but others have loved it so it could be just me. I loved the way the complex story unravels and pulls you in to the hunt/mystery with clues, twists and reveals everywhere and a vast array of characters. I’ve always loved Myron and Win as a duo and I was interested to see how this would play out with just Win on his own. Win is a very interesting character and I look forward to the next one.

The conclusion for me was extremely unexpected but totally satisfying . Very enjoyable, I read it in a “gulp”, I couldn’t put it down. I was hesitant to jump into this book since some of the reviews indicated the main character was from another series which I hadn’t read.
