Easy rhyming, exquisite detail in the illustration, I can only recommend this and am already looking forward to the next one :) And! The last 2 books (this one amongst the 2) feature different characters, and still Julia introduces them in a way that sets the book in a familiar context.
The Ladybird has been our friend for over 2 years now, we started early on and we have followed all of her adventures with quite a dedication, now in the 3rd generation of readers (if you include the adults as one group). Recurring rhymes that unite all the books in the series (and still sound novel yet familiar) makes kids relate and immediately drives them to go get all of the preceding books. - which is more important, so do the little ones. But, the setting being different, each book comes across as something fresh and of its own kind.
