”A commentary on womanhood, female agency and what it is like to live in a man’s world, the author gives a voice to the forgotten women who were merely pawns. I was hooked; totally obsessed and savouring every word as I luxuriated in this book.

Ariadne was driven by her own personal motivations, only betraying her father when she was personally benefitted rather than because it was the right thing; but in the end she did know what the right thing to do was, and while that terrified her, she spoke up and ultimately paid the price of her husbands actions. "An accomplished and spectacular debut from an exciting new talent, this book is exquisitely and meticulously written. From the very first page, you are transported to Ancient Greece.
