Reviews

A. Douglas

I love the family dynamics of Julia and her family and just found everything fitted together so well from beginning to end. The world created is simply sublime and the prose flows so naturally from page to page that you can't help but become immersed in the story.

Tree Hugger

This is such a joyful book to both read and marvel at its beauty. Just the book itself looks beautiful enough for 5 stars. This book is so worthy of a 5-star rating.

I really enjoyed it and will no doubt read it again. This is a book about love, friendship and sharks! Hard-hitting in parts, it also credits the younger reader with intelligence regarding its subject matter.

Abanti Mukherjee

The illustrations sweep you away into the story and also make you pause on the page to take it all in. It's a lovely book to read even though it's often sad. This book is breathtaking.

The way Maura's bipolar disorder is presented is both heartbreaking but honest. Those fantastic unique illustrations, the colour scheme and the overall presentation of this book complemented the story perfectly. The story is orientated around remote island life, exploration and carries an environmental backdrop. Highly recommended.

A tender storyline and one handled so well throughout by its author, Julia and the Shark is an absolute delight, regardless of your age! The design and illustrations are wonderful. Truly impressed from the very first page.
