The 3 mm version is well suited to compensate for unevenness, but I cannot imagine that this also works with the 1 mm version. Great mouse pad I can compare it to the SteelSeries 4HD, my old carpet. With this surface, it's better than a “fabric” rug. Right where I have my mouse is this edge with a slight difference in height.

In short, a top product, I recommend without hesitation. I prefer the finer Steelseries. It's so thick and massive that it'll never bend! Thickness: 1mm greater thickness for the Logitech.

The mouse glides very well over the pad. Quality: it's great, still a little better than the Steelseries. A big rug is really great. Stiff, very flat, non-slip surface underneath, it's perfect.

The main reason, however, was that I have an old desk, where there is an inserted panel covered with fabric in the middle (see picture). Mine did come ever so slightly dented though. 3.

Not only does this give a better grip even when a lot of dust accumulates on the desk, but it completely removes the annoying problem of creases that form with wear and with the constant moisture of the palm on the surface of the mat. Since, however, for years I've always been comfortable with Logitech gaming mats, I decided to upgrade and get this bigger and thicker version. However as far as hard smooth surfaces that track well, nothing comes close. The surface: The surface of the Logitech is much softer (a bit grainy for steelseries).

With a fabric mouse pad, this edge is retained so that my mouse cursor often does stupid stuff when I get over that edge. Didn't really want to wait on a replacement. It is 34cm x 28cm in size. The Logitech is much nicer and the mouse glides better.
