And that ending was just *mwah* perfect! These weave easily together and really help build the story. Dalcher can really paint a picture with words and everything is described in such a way that you can just imagine being there amongst it. Femlandia follows Miranda who is in her forties and she has a sixteen year old daughter named Emma.

Miranda realises that something isn't quite right in Femlandia, something more than the fact her Daughter is being brainwashed right from her arrival. BUT. Ok, so that doesn't sound too bad does it? I was then very excited for Femlandia to be released.

Miranda's mother Win Somers set up a women-only commune called Femlandia decades before. What I think I love about her books is that they are so believable.

It is an interesting one because it could so very easily be true and that is what I love and Dalcher's novels. In present times everything is shut down, food supplies are limited and the women have lost their home and everything they owned.

Miranda's character felt very well written. Once again Christina Dalcher hits it outta the park with an incredible take on feminist dystopia. I still have 'Vox' on my bookshelf but I will definitely be reading that soon.

There's children in the community but they're all girls, so what happened to the boys? America has suffered a huge economic collapse and right at the beginning of it, her husband Nick commits suicide. The chapters alternate between present tense when Miranda and Emma are in Femlandia and also Win Somers' background and Miranda's childhood. Women only, safety, plenty of food, and some luxuries sounds like a great way to ride out the collapse of society.
