It lasts for quite a while too in comparison. Every 6 months I boil the charcoal for 10 min to clean it and then I can use it again. Wonderfull product.

I put it in an Addis clip and close fridge jug, fill with water each evening (topping up again later in the day) and then I have cold, clean tasting water always available. is the 2nd I buy, but this time it came half the size of the previous one. I mean, if that's a big deal to you. Be mindful that the minimum amount of time for purification is 1 hour and as a general rule, the longer, the better.

Definitely need to think of investing in glass bottles but that is next on my list. I like the taste of water.
