That's why I decided to give this Cuisinart waffle maker a try. The media could not be loaded. I suggest using a hot glove because there was enough steam and heat that was a bit hot on the wrist.

What I love about it:- It's very slim and doesn't take up much space on kitchen shelf, which comes in handy in a small kitchen- a green light comes on when the waffle maker is preheated and ready to go- this light then turns red when the batter has been poured and turns green once your waffle is done cooking- temperature can easily be adjusted with a sliding knob- waffles come out evenly cooked (you might have to play with the temperature settings a little bit)What I don't like:- the machine feels a little bit flimsy- since the waffle maker can't be submerged into water, it makes it hard to clean (but that's the case with all waffle makers) >>> I learned that cleaning it right away with a wet soapy rag once it has cooled off is the easiest I was gifted a waffle iron a good 10+ years ago; it looked a lot like the one I've bought again. Unlike cast-iron for example. After the first use, the smell was no longer there so if you can make a small batch on the first time, throw them let it cool and then use it again the next day.

The first one shows the waffle a bit darker than what I like and stuck to the top. Attempt 2:This one I actually waited for the green light to go on and then I lifted the lid. Made the first waffle, followed instructions, waited for the indicator to turn green, it was perfectly formed, did bit stick. But otherwise it doesn't burn as long as you follow the indicator light - pour in the batter when it is green, it'll turn red and take it off only when it turns green again.

Baking is science basically and this should be no different. I made my batter, heated the iron and poured exactly ½ cup of batter in the center of the iron.

I'm still quite happy with this. I realize it is said that non-stick spray isn't necessary (and shouldn't be used on non-stick surfaces anyway) but Pam was the only saving grace I think. What is the secret other than time?

I gave some to the dog and she was pretty happy. It could be that it is seasoned a bit but something this inexpensive doesn't seem like it will have the best non-stick coating on it in the first place. But I noticed that sometime the thicker waffles didn't cook through all the way and came out soggy. If you pour in too much batter, it will overflow and drip down the sides and front, which is messy to clean, so pour enough to cover 40% of the waffle maker and then close it and if it doesn't make a complete circle, u know can adjust and pour a bit more each time.

I had a waffle! Attempt 3:Well this is going a bit better. I moved more towards 4 for the second waffle and it was a little darker. I don't need a perfectly round waffle, I'm not IHOP.
