For the price I'd say they were a steel! This product is awesome and awesome and awesome! They're very loud for their size I haven't needed to put the speakers past half way volume yet !

Would definitely recommend these to anyone! I don't game on them personally but use them for production & really chuffed with the way they perform. I'm considering buying them for every room in my house.
