I have 4c-afro textured hair and it does a nice job slicking my hair down. Only problem is if u go for a run or sweat hard, it will lose hold. I really liked the smell and texture. My hair is 100% chemical free with no hair relaxer or color.

But changed to different product(REUZEL), just to try out different one, which was nice with smell, textures, and holding. It does not hold forever but I like the way it makes my hair behave a lot better and hold my styles longer in the 80% humidity I live in. And just came back layrite again and think I’m stick with this for another few years. I took this photo after 8 hrs of physical work.

I was introduced to Layrite a few years ago at a barbershop. I live in a super humid climate and needed something to help my hair hold on certain styles. I ran into it for the first time in a Marshall's and thought I'd give it a try because I'm a hair product junkie who loves trying new things. You can see the difference between the two sections and how well the hair holds.

The only down side I can find is that if you use too much it may flake/or make gummies in your hair so try not to over do it. I have super thick hair, afro style. The braid in the top of my hair that I'm holding is a section of hair that has no product on it. A return customer, I love this pomade so much!

Also note that it is not a hardening gel. As for the pictures, the hair in the front has the product on it and you can see how my hair is laid.
