How We Gave Control of Our Lives to Corporations, States and AIs. Sun: 10am-6pm What no one says is that it happened before. 71 Balham High Road, Balham, SW12 9AP Especially if we have been there before. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. A few hundred years ago, humans started building the robots that now rule our world. They have made us richer, safer and healthier than would have seemed possible even a few generations ago - and they may yet destroy us. 'The Handover' distils over 300 years of thinking about how to live with artificial agency. They are called states and corporations: immensely powerful artificial entities, with capacities that go far beyond what any individual can do, and which, unlike us, need never die.

Security guards at the museum, they meet for 5 minutes every day, to handover, Daisy, fastidious, a little cold, who works the evening shift, broken, hiding a deep dark secret that's followed her throughout her life, something she did when she was younger that was very VERY bad. He writes in such an engaging way that you see a little of yourself in the characters. 📚 Book Review 📚#thehandover@davidmbarnett🌟🌟🌟🌟Oh Daisy, the slightly strange, loner, OCD museum security guard with a mysterious and troublesome past. A great, easy and brilliantly written book.

I find his writing so resonates with me, characters you care about, an excellent plot, I also loved the chapters being divided up into "Daisy" and "Nate" written from their perspectives. "Daisy works nights.
Rosie her sister, drinking far more than she should and a cast of characters that fill another five star book from David M Barnett. Daisy and Nate.
A failed relationship with Lucia and trying to be a good Dad to the best of his ability to his Son Ben. I loved her and her quirkiness so much.
