I enjoyed reading it so much i purchased Circe, the authors later book with the hopes of loving it just as much. This book is a twist.

It speaks about all of that while still maintaining an interesting plot. I loved every chapter and every page! it's a love story, a coming of age story, war story, historical story and so much more. Patroklos was the elder of the two and Akhileus the younger, as can be seen on the classic image on a Greek vase, where Akhileus is bandaging the wounded arm of Patroklos (also described in this book).

I can't wait to finish it. It's emotional, eloquently written and takes you on a fabulously fantastic adventure of both the ancient world and young, yet true love.

If you love any form of history and greek mythology then this is the book for you! That is so wrong. Ughhhh I loved it so much. Miller’s writing technique is so beautiful it completely captivates you into the world of Patroclus and Achilles, and is incredibly easy to read.

Very disappointing as a book I would have happily re-read. Madeline Miller clearly knows her classics and likes to make readers see it. Akhileus was not even 18 when he entered the war against Troy, which is very important to know, because the kings of all the Achaian nations had sworn to stand at the side of the one whom Helena of Sparta would choose as her husband (all were suitors for her hand because of her beauty), but at that time Akhileus was still too young to be a suitor so he never took the same oath. I read this book a few months ago on my kindle and instantly fell in love with it!
