I found that they were very easy to use, with much less drag than other straighteners I’ve used (both GHD and other brands), I’m assuming because of the ‘contoured floating plates’, and can do my whole head of shoulder length hair in about ten minutes flat. I've been a long time user of GHDs having had a few sets. I love these new straighteners from GHD and I am surprised to report that they do perform better than my previous very old set.

There's also a handy silicone heat resistant 'hat' for popping onto your heated plates after you finish styling, reducing the risk of burning your furniture/furnishings. Whilst I’m not entirely sure why, these new straighteners produce a much better result on my stubborn thick hair, despite taking less time and without any straightening serum, which I am very impressed with - I’m guessing the GHD ‘dual-zone technology’ has something to do with this! I really judge the item for it's true worth. All in all, another excellent and more versatile narrower bladed, stylish set in a luxury velvet lined vanity case.
So yes it’s expensive, as GHD straighteners are, but they are superb quality and I think really pay for their keep, both in terms of time saved, results and compliments received! As I, as a consumer, would also want to read good, HONEST reviews for my purchases. My hair even remained clearly straight the next day, and I’ve had several comments at work about how lovely, shiny and styled my hair looks! They have established that 185°C is the optimum temperature to heatstyle hair.
