The decking was sanded with very fine glass paper before applying six coats of sanding sealer - sanded with flour paper between each coat. So much less fuss to work with than a traditional varnish and gives the painting so much more depth. I painted and 'edged' with the MDF letters with pink glitter to give an 'outlined' effect. But it worked very well - didn’t make the inks run, didn’t cause any yellowing, went on evenly, dried quickly.

Do it used when windy. Ensure full breathing protection. Next time I had a face mask with filters, and a full head visor feeding filtered air. I then finished with three coats of the Rust-Oleum, but with no sanding between these coats.

Shine was perfect and dried pretty quickly in the heat outside. I used 3 coats and the waters sits in the saucers now rather than spay through the saucers! Some areas had a very matt finish. As an artist it’s hard to find a varnish that’s easy to get on with.

If spray on a little too much it will run and leave marks so be sure to spray just the amount you need and not over do it Used on my guitar project picture attached. I used this spray on the decking of this 1/12 scale model of a Thames Slipper Launch which I built in the first half of this year.

Useful product. Seems to have a good finish but the surface is slightly sticky still over a week after application but this is definitely getting less so, I potentially put additional layers on too quick so I’m blaming user error rather than the product. Smells like nail varnish remover. One word of warning.

I’ve been using this sealant for my pot saucers to allow water not to swap through the pot clay materials on my plant shelf. I used this on some MDF wood letters that I had cut to make my own canvas sign. Worked a treat! 10/10

Blows back and smells not great. (See photo). My next aim is to paint my pots and use this sealant to prevent paint rubbing away with water. Can make you cough.
