Sadly, despite being assured otherwise, the unit came with a U. At circa £20, it's very expensive. I was about to send it back, but tested it with the black lead powering the recently bought (love it) 3rd Gen Dot, in my living room and it started the set up process. I recently bought, after a lot of searching (since Amazon has stopped making them, it seems) a brand new 3rd Generation Echo Dot with Clock, as I (and I don't think I'm alone in this) much prefer the 3rd Gen "puck" design to the more recent "spherical" efforts.

S. It arrived in double quick time, via Prime and I'm chuffed to say that it works a treat and set up and operation is a breeze. Plug, useless to me.

Amazon would do well to resurrect the design, which in my opinion is heaps better than what's arrived, more recently! So, I had a look on Amazon for an "official" Plug for the Dots and luckily found one that is white, in colour (they don't make them in black) to match the "sandstone" colour of the Dot with Clock. But, I know it's the "real deal," not a cheap knock off and I wanted a 3rd Gen Dot with Clock, rather than the newer models.
