(I also did that with a yak chew and holder. The media could not be loaded. Periodically tightening the screw could prevent this but that kinda defeats the reason I got these in the first place.

Anyway, the dogs will chew on and bully stick & holder trying to get the last bits of bully stick out and they can’t. The holder itself is a hard plastic, a wee bit heavy which is a good thing, it's not a flimsy holder.

Would absolutely recommend this product and company. Big improvement but still not perfect. The price point is fairly high but if it gives me peace of mind that my dogs won’t choke, its worth it. Once tightened, the stick isn't moving and the pup can chew it all the way down, on both sides.

The bully sick turns a bit loosening the knob making it easy for the dogs to dislodge it. I’ll report back. The bully stick holder is great - it holds the stick, regardless of size, in place securely with the adjustable screw. Its just about the same width as the plastic screw on the medium holder.
