I can't comment on it's utility as a pot saucer, but the dimensions are just right to work as a dust cover for the mirror cell on my 16" Dob and it seems sturdy enough to support the secondary mirror cell / spider in storage. It will probably need some cutting to fit with the truss tubes in place but this is more or less covered by the light shroud anyway .
