And it takes a very long time to transfer 122 terabytes of information from the NVR to a micro SD card or an SD card then uploading to an external hard drive or computer. We can say categorically that the brand or type of hard drive you use will not improve the image resolution (picture quality) of your system. Before handling the hard drive, before you take it out of its package - you MUST DISCHARGE ANY STATIC ELECTRICITY FROM YOURSELF, YOUR WORK AREA, AND ITEMS TO BE USED! The two processes are entirely different job tasks.

Records CCTV effortlessly, providing first-rate playback. Drive noise2. And then it gives me time to review recordings and then I'm able to reuse the hard drive after formatting it.

WILL IT IMPROVE MY SECURITY SYSTEMThe short answer is not really. Chose the WD Purple product as being used for an NVR/CCTV application (mostly writing to the disc). Early days, but install was very easy.

So random-access search time is far less of a priority than the non-stop grunt work of recording dependably 24/7/365 without a hiccup. COMPARISON: BRAND A VS. Installed this into an NVR.

Instead of transferring files from the m v r to an SD card or a Micro SD card then to an external hard drive or computer, I just decided to go with a larger hard drive and when it's full have another one ready to replace it and store them safely then I can always have the original. Very pleased.

They also make anti-static mat that you can work on. Great product The alligator clip you can attach to a piece of metal or something going to the ground and that'll discharge any static electricity from your body. Speed of access in a computer is extremely important.
