The little led isn't too noticeable which is good. (EDIT 1)I was able to get close to my 1Gbps speeds recently. It does get hot in use, but that doesn't seem to degrade performance.

Using this with my 2016 MBP I am only getting 600Mbps up and down. Kind of disappointed Cable Matters is a good brand in my opinion maybe I received a bad adapter. Replacement works just fine. All compatible.
