His lessons result in a clash between his formal recitation of memorized spells and Agnieszka's spontaneous channeling of the enigmatic Slavic witch of old legend, Baba Yaga. Interesting take on magic.

I felt like both characters at first seemed to be opposite, like she was more beast, and "The Dragon" was the beauty. The actual book itself I highly recommend. There is no adult language but graphic violence and sexual tension are two of the driving forces in this novel. My screentime went down 75% during the week i read it, which shows what a good book can do!

I loved this novel. This girl, lives with him in his lonely tower, not to be seen again by her people for ten years. Those too far gone for his potions, well, he takes care of them too, but they are never seen again. Despite epic battles that are choreographed to small details, the novel has an anti-war theme.

It’s 435 pages. Greed and the thirst for power play a part in the downfall of some characters as much as dark magic. Sex scenes are few but explicit. The people of the valley are grateful to him for this protection—but not that grateful.

I loved Naomi’s writing style and I thought it well written. She begins to wield elemental magic in ways the Dragon doesn't even comprehend, leaving him to wonder who is teaching whom. Her annunciation was impeccable, and despite the accent I had no difficulty understanding her words.

I thought it very well constructed & quite original. So surprised by some of the negative comments but i guess we each have a writing style we like. She returns, emphatically insisting she has not been harmed. The Wood, however, provides most of the antagonism, and acts as malevolent as any character seen in a psychological horror novel.
